About Kay Cleveland

Kwajalein (Kay) Cleveland, CNM, MSN, RN

Kay is a native of Charleston, SC, married with 4 beautiful daughters and became interested in nursing and midwifery very early on in life through personal tragedies and blessings. First, when her father and her  8 year old sister were involved in a motor vehicle accident in which her dear sister, Kameka unfortunately and untimely passed.Thereafter, 2 years later she had the opportunity to catch her brother, Deion and her love for childbirth began. She thought to herself how wonderful it would feel to be a constant part of one of God’s greatest miracles; childbirth and she has never looked back.

With  over 14 years of nursing experience, Kay has  been recognized for compassionate and excellent nursing care as a leader and a mentor during her nursing career. A graduate of Frontier nursing University with a MSN in nurse midwifery, she has proceeded her  midwifery career with vast knowledge from assisting moms and their families as a DONA trained doula and birth assistant.  Her dreams begin to come into fruition when she took a leap of faith and decided  to relocate to Atlanta to work in a full scope midwifery practice where she has grown and become confident with water births, vaginal births after cesarean (VBACs), vaginal twin and breech births.

Kay’s journey has been one of determination and dedication as I continue to soar to new endeavors in my midwifery career. I am excited to bring my drive, ambition, and passion for midwifery to birth the communities near and far, to give birth a chance.

As a wife and a mother of four daughters, she values women empowerment, education, and shared decision making in building a solid foundation for mothers and their families as they experience one of life’s most changing event; childbirth. Kay looks forward to supporting and providing the most optimal care to mothers and their families to foster positive birth experiences.
